: An RPG real time combat system, where blocks doesn't happen automatically, but you have a short "bullet time"/slow motion window to press [block button], and the length (i.e. the degree of slowdown) depends on your block-stat; higher blockstat => more time to react to attacks.

If you're dual wielding or dodging, the game could give you the option / opportunity for counterattacking.
