Okay, I'm exaggerating for comedic effect. --release puts it at ~35 fps, so it's not the worst code I've ever written.
Okay, actually plugging in a charging cable so the CPU isn't getting throttled makes it go up to 6fps without and 60fps with --release.
(Yes, of course I skip straight past the actual point of the post and go straight for the fox on your desktop background.)
