hot take

if you don't have å on your keyboard, it's spelled blaahaj!

re: hot take

@owl @zatnosk norse voice
ᛒᛚᛅᛦ

re: hot take

@namtari @owl IKEA is neither Icelandic, Faroese, nor Old Norse, imho.

Also,

ᛒᛚᛅᚼᛅᚴᚬᚱᛚ

(based on en.wiktionary.org/wiki/h%C3%A1 )

re: hot take

@zatnosk I was just thinking you could use what you have handy, since it means the same thing (blár is blá- in prefix form)

re: hot take

@owl true, bláhaj is better than blahaj, but it's still based on icelandic/faroese writing rules and not swedish/danish/norwegian writing rules.

@zatnosk @owl This Swedish person when in lack of a Scandinavian keyboard would write it blahaj rather than blaahaj.

re: hot take

@zatnosk @owl disagree on the runes: á isn't nasal, so it would be ᛅ, and blár comes from blēwaz, so the R would be ᛦ as z that turned into Rs from proto-germanic usually are represented with ᛦ afaik

re: hot take

@namtari I don't disagree that the -r on blár is a ᛦ, I just think (and I might be wrong) that it turns into blá (ᛒᛚᛅ) when used as a prefix in the word "bláhákarl", i.e. blåhaj.

re: hot take

@zatnosk lmao, you're right I went on a rant because I didn't read properly x) my bad

hot take

@zatnosk I hate the guts of whoever came up with the German computer keyboard layout
